The Roanoke Public Library is very happy to announce that
their LSTA Technology Sub-Grant application entitled Laptop for Adult/Senior
Computer Classes was approved for the full amount requested of
$9,466. This grant will allow the Library to purchase at least 8 laptops
and have them loaded with security and Microsoft Office programs and to
purchase a cart that will allow the laptops to be stored securely and
charged. The main purpose of the laptops will be to allow computer
classes to take place, starting in the fall, for seniors and adults in the
Library’s program room while not disturbing the activities in the rest of the
Library. When the laptops are not in use for computer classes, the
laptops will be available for check-out in the library in exchange for your
driver’s license, if the regular patron computers are full. We hope this
grant will be beneficial to the whole community of Roanoke in enhancing the
service and programs the Library can offer.
This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library.
