Spamming Complaints

The Library's cataloging system through the State of Indiana is getting accused by patrons of spamming. Because of this, the following message is being asked to be circulated among our patrons.

"We would appreciate any education that our member libraries can give to patrons about this situation.   If the patron doesn’t want to receive notices, no problem, they can opt-out by removing their email address from their account, and by updating their notification preferences in My Account.

Customers who wrongfully report us as spammers jeopardize the community at large, because eventually providers will block us outright because of the complaints.  We’re usually able to prove that we are, indeed, not spammers and resolve the block but this may not always be the case of we’re wrongfully accused."

Please opt out of receiving the library's emails rather than reporting the library as a spammer.  We do these services to help you are patrons, not to bother you.
