The Roanoke Public Library’s Summer Reading Program “Book a Day on the Farm ended with a party and a visit from Johnny of the TinCaps. Prizes were awarded. The middle picture is Renee Peterson, age 7, who read 210 book and was presented the “Little blue truck” book for top reader age 6-7 by Jerry Anderson, member of the Roanoke Lions Club. The Lions donated the prizes for the program. Other prize winners included: Avery Schall, perfect attendance ages 2-6; Avery Szelis, perfect attendance ages 7-12; Alex Peterson, top reader age 2-3; Avery Schall, top reader age 4-5; Jessica Hartmus, top reader age 8-9; and Emma Melcher, top reader age 10-12. There were 47 total participants. Many won TinCaps tickets, Applebee’s Free Kid’s Meal Coupons, Moose & Mollie’s coupons along with other goodies. All preschoolers received a free book for participating.
