Don't forget, we have eBooks!

If you have a green Roanoke Public Library card, all you need is to know your password/pin for that card and you can check out eBooks or downloadable audio books.  The Roanoke Public Library is part of the eIndiana Digital Consortium.  The Consortium consists of over 30 libraries in Indiana that all purchase and share their eBooks and downloadable audio books. Because of this joint effort of numerous libraries around the state of Indiana, many different ebooks in many different genres are available for checkout. Each user can check out up to 3 titles at a time for a period of 7 or 14 days.  You can even put a hold on an eBook that is not currently available.  Residents of the Town of Roanoke can receive their “free” library card anytime the library is open by bringing in their driver’s license or a utility bill with their current address.  Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a driver’s license or utility bill with their current address. Non-residents of the Town of Roanoke may purchase a card for $48 a year.  Remember you must live within the Town of Roanoke’s limits and not just have a Roanoke address to receive the “free” card per state law.  For more information, contact the library at 260-672-2989 or director@roanoke.lib.in.us or stop in at 126 N. Main Street, Roanoke.
